updates part 1

well, hello people!

seems like i have been neglecting this blog for so long. yeah, been not in the mood of writing though i posted a lot of notes on my facebook. probably the right term to explain the situation is i was being poetic lately and totally not in the mood for journaling. as you know, writers are more less like artists, our moods sometimes determine what kind of art works we're producing (in my case, what kind of writings i'm producing). i was in a very mellow mood, due to some heart issues, which was better portrayed by writing a lot of poems reflecting what's in my heart. short words do much than longer ones in times like this. oh better cut this off, i don't plan to write anything mellow in this space, not after a while. so let's proceed to the next thing then.

so, how's life been treating you guys?

GOOD i hope. yet if not, i truly hope that things will get better for you. just hang on for a while because just in time when you really want to give up, that's when you will realize that you are stronger than before. keep pushing through and at the end, everything that you've gone through will make sense. trust me.

okay, now let's see what updates do i have.

First, earlier this year, i got another chance to go to Thailand. probably i haven't really mention in this blog about my first trip to that country. well, gonna post about that later. however, i was so excited of going back because that country has truly stolen my heart. on my first trip, i went to Bangkok and Pattaya. this time, i went to the south side of Thailand, to a small famous island called Phuket. 

two words to describe my trip there: DIVINE APPOINTMENT.

trust me, that it was so perfectly and so well orchestrated by the BIG GUY, Himself.

started with the cheap flight offered by my high school friend who was looking for someone to go with her. it didn't take a long time for us to really book the flight at the end of 2009 for the flight in early 2010. 

then, her colleague from the office who also got a cheap flight a month earlier than us got a seat next to a girl, who was a fellow indonesian going to the same destination. they got into a conversation and knowing that it was the first time for my friend's collegue to go there, this girl offered my friend's colleague to go with her and her friends with a local guide who happened to be her friend. the guide name was mr. Porn(believe it or not! i also thought i misheard the name until i saw his email signature, it was really Porn. However, in thai, Porn means good luck! ). 

and after my friend's colleague got back to Jakarta, she recommend the guide to my friend because she found that the guide was very helpful and kind. my kind friend then contacted him via email and started to arrange things with him during our stay in Phuket. she also managed to book the guest house where we're going to stay in Phuket. 

the day came, and we got off to Phuket. the guide, mr. Porn picked us up and he was truly a nice guy. to add things to our surprise, the guest house was so close to his office thus we could come by at any time if we needed his help. mr. Porn worked with his family, a nephew and a cousin, they were very helpful and kind, all at the same time. the people at the guest house where we stayed was also very helpful and nice. truly we were blessed! we had a great time there and next year, i will be back there with my friends 

after the trip, i still get in touch with mr. Porn and his family. to appreciate what they have kindly done to us, i recommend him to all my friends and family who are going there, i believe he will take care of them well as he has taken care of me and my friend during our stay. i also plan to help him with his business through a project, which i will tell you later once it's done 

that was my first update. i was so pleased to have met such great thai people and have the honor to work with them as well now. i love the country and i hope the next time i get back, i can do more for the people.

for the start, i'm doing what i can, including supporting the cause against children sex trafficking in the land through an organization called LOVE145 (www.love146.org) and also a project from YWAM Thailand called the MST Project (www.mstproject.com) which reach out to the tourists in the sex industry. i read a lot about the case and not just that, i also learned about the people, the culture and also the language. i love the country and i pray for a better future for this land. GOD LOVES THAILAND as HE LOVES INDONESIA, my home country.
