The Send Jon Project

Hey everyone!

Jon V. is a friend of mine. He's a missionary from Indonesia who is currently working with YWAM in a ministry called Island Breeze. He's a man of God who is so full of passion, integrity, sincerity and desire to preach the Good News to everyone God brings him to meet.

Last year, I had a chance to meet him and his team from YWAM while they had their ministry in my city, Jakarta. They stayed for three months in Jakarta and I was so privilege to have the chance to work with him and his team. From there I can see how much Jon loves the Lord, I am so blessed by the love that he gave to the people at the slum areas where we were doing the ministry.

Jon's life story was very inspiring. He was a surfer and God led him to meet the people from YWAM which later led him to the Discipleship Training School (DTS) in YWAM Perth, a place where he learned to know more about God and His heart. After finishing his DTS, Jon serves as a volunteer in YWAM Perth base while taking a second level school called the Island Breeze. Jon felt the calling for long-term mission and has committed his life to it.

Since Jon comes from a humble third world background, he does not yet have a group of people with the finances to commit to supporting him as he obeys the Lord's call to missions. Yes, it's a bit hard but nothing's too hard for God, with the generous donations from random people God has always provide for Jon.
