Guess I’ve been quite away from this web for a while =) Well, work was pretty much hectic and it didn’t leave me much spare time to write. In addition to that, I guess, writing sometimes needs a mood and most of the time I didn’t really have the mood =p
Anyway, as my 2010’s resolution – NOT!=p I will try to put here what I got from God daily, maybe random quotes, insights, bible verses, images of something or someone, ideas or anything with a hope that it might encourage those who read and also as a reminder for me =)
Okay, now the first thing that I wantto put here is a project by Jaeson Ma called 365 Days of Love (you can read more in his blog here and the video on youtube here). I was totally inspired by what he’s doing. It’s so cool. So,this is how it works, daily Jaeson will try to do one random act of love or kindness to other people, he will then post it on his twitter, blog and make avideo out of it to make us able to follow him doing his act. He said he’s been preaching about LOVE and he felt like he’s not suppose to just preach about it but also doing it for real. It’s been inspirational to read his journey in this 365 Days of Loveproject, considering the fact that we do have a lot of chances to do good to people if only we want to be open to what other people need. It doesn’t have to be something extraordinary or big but it can be as simple as treating children for ice cream or bought cans of cheery cola for a homeless woman =) *my favourite story from all*
Sometimes, we’re stuck with a thought that if we want to do something significant, we have to plan or do something big. In fact, it doesn’t have to be that complicated. A random act of kindness or love, no matter how big or small will somehow have a significant impact tothose who receive and to those who give it as well, both will bring joy.
There’s a story that I like, I read it from the internet and I guess it’s quite a famous story. It’s called the Starfish Story and let me share it here:
The Starfish Story
Original Story by: Loren Eisley
Oneday a man was walking along the beach when he noticed
a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.
Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”
The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean.
The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”
“Son,”the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?
You can’t make a difference!”
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish,
and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…”
I made a difference for that one.”
Yeap…we can’t help everyone in this world, but at least we can help one person and that has made the difference =)
