Jeremy Cowart was my favourite photographer of all time. Not just because he has good works but rather than what he does with his talent. In the video, if you have watched it until the end, you will know what he has done with his talent and his ideas to help other people. 

His video is so encouraging. When I listened to his video I was having a dream in my mind, a dream so big that I don’t even know how to make it come true. Towards the end of his video, he was talking about the purpose hotel and it was clicked with what I had in mind. 

Everyone who knows me know how much I love diving and the underwater world. They know that I can talk for a long time if it’s about diving or about conservation and they would need to bear my constant posting on my social media about ocean conservation awareness (I’m sorry for that guys! I love you!) – Some of them also know how I always say that I dream of having a DIVE RESORT. 

Yes, a Dive Resort. 

Why a Dive Resort? 

Here's why. 

I love diving and diving has taken me to travel to places in Indonesia and meeting the local people. One of my favorite things to do during traveling is meeting the local people and talk with them, sharing the stories about life and everything. It is always interesting to actually listen about their life and the challenges they are facing. 

And after being around for a while, listening to stories and observing what's going on. I feel like I really want to do something for the local people who lives in the coastal areas and also how to educate and help them to conserve the sea. It's a away to give back to the local people and to the sea. 

Thus, the Dive Resort idea comes to mind.

Basically it's not just a place where divers come to stay and dive, but more, it's a place with a hope to empower the local people. After a while, I noticed that foreign dive operators or dive centers are deemed to be more professional in terms of safe diving procedures, well I really wish to break that label. I want to build a local dive operator or dive center that is managed professionally by the local people with world class safe diving procedures, because I still believe that locals know best, sometimes they just need a chance and a support to bring out the best in them in their own way. A local dive operator or dive center that will promote sustainable diving. 

I dream that the Dive Resort will also be a place that will help the local people to develop sustainable fishing and coral conservation. A place that can equip them with necessary knowledge on how to preserve the natural resources around them. A place where people can come and do brainstorming on ideas to build the community. I also dream to have a little library next to the Dive Resort, filled with books for children and for adults where the local people can come and read, sometimes there will also classes held in the library for children and women to equip them, such as language class for children, cooking and nutrition class for the women, and so on.

I dream that the Dive Resort will also be a welcoming place for the divers and travelers, where they can feel the kindness of the local people and volunteer if they want, i.e. teaching the children or giving a skill training. I wish that it would be a relaxing and nice place to stay where people who are weary can come and feel refreshed after. A homey kind of place by the sea. 

I know that the dream is kind of crazy, but like Jeremy said, we need to speak of our dream. I am not sure how would I be able to make this dream come true, I know for sure that it will require a lot of money, time and it will also need a lot of people to get involved to make the dream come true. I am not even sure how I can start it, I am not sure what to do to begin with. So far, all I can is equipping myself with necessary knowledge, I read here and there, I talk with people here and there, I watch and observe and I PRAY. 

I PRAY HARD for God to lead me to the right people to work with and I pray that He would give me ideas on what to do. 

Dream gives you purpose, it gives you fuel to live life, it gives you a direction of where to go. Dream is not an easy thing to reach, it takes time, it takes patience, it takes persistence, it takes sacrifice, it takes everything. But I know if I believe that I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me, then like Jeremy said, "I'm possible" - It's either I will be the one who witness the dream to come true or I can be the one who paved the way for other people to make the dream come true. Either way, it is possible to come true. 

So, I have shared my crazy big dream and now, it's your turn to think about your dream. Speak it, pray for it and act on it. A single step is all you need to start a journey :)
